In the 2003-2004 academic year, the Department of Architecture and Construction of the Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh began enrolling students for the first time in the Republic of Karakalpakstan on the course “Architecture”. At the opening of this direction at the Karakalpak State University, a great contribution was made by Honored Architect of the Republic of Orynbay Toreniyazov and Head of the Department of General Construction Prof. Kenesbay Baymanov.
Department of Urban construction and economy contributes to the preparation of highly qualified personnel in urban planning and highways and airfields in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and neighboring regions. Initially, the training of students in architecture and urban planning was carried out at the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning. The opening of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning is inextricably linked with the reorganization of the Department of General Construction and Vocational Education in 2009 into the Department of Architecture and Construction. In 2008-2014, the Department of Architecture was headed by Associate Professor RN Eshniyazov, and in 2014-2019 as a result of the reorganization of the Department was reorganized into the Department of “Architecture and Urban Planning” and that time B.Kidrbaev managed this department. In 2019 on the basis of the Technical Faculty there were two faculties – Architecture and Construction. As part of the Architecture Department was opened the Department of “Urban Construction and economy” and included in the department 5340300-Urban construction and economy, 5340800 – automobile roads and airfields. Currently, the department is headed by t.f.f.d Ilyasov A.T. (PhD) is the head of the department. The department has 12 professors and teachers, including 1 doctor of sciences, 1 candidate of science, 2 senior teachers, 5 assistant teachers and 3 trainees. In addition, the department is involved in the educational process of architects and professors who have served in the Republic on a basis, teaching students the secrets of science. Currently, the faculty of the department is participating in the European Union Erasmus + project called GREB. Over the next three years, the department has conducted master classes at Associate Professor RR Eshniyazov in 2015 at Upsala University (Sweden), and in 2018 at the University of LAcula (Italy). R.Eshniyazov and J.Turgaev trained at LAcula University in Italy, B.Kosymbetov trained at Salzburg University in Austria.
The department is preparing specialists in the field of 5340300-Urban construction and economy and 5340800-automobile roads and airfields. In the department,1 student of many talented young people have been awarded with “Beruniy” scholarship, 2 students “Berdak” scholarship, and also the winner of the “Yurt Kelajagi” Youth Competition.

Ilyasov Allanazar Torekhanovich, Doctor of Philosophy in Technical Sciences (PhD). Born in 1986 in Nukus. In 2012 he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Architecture. He defended his dissertation on the theme “Forming the structure, composition and properties of effective wall-ceramic products on the basis of local raw materials” for the specialty 05.09.05-Building materials and products.Now he is the author of more than 70 scientific and methodical works, he is the author of 3 textbooks, 5 manuals, 2 monographs, 5 copyright certificates, more than 50 articles and abstracts. Since 2019 he is the head of the department.
Baymanov Kengesbay Ibraymovich, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor. He was born in 1949 in Chimbay district. In 1970 he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Agricultural Irrigation and Mechanization Engineers. In 1990 he defended his thesis on “Hydraulic and Nanosy Mode Channels for Plotting of Water Resources in Amu Darya and Recomendation”.In 2006 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the theme:“Patterns of movement and methods for calculating open suspended flows in the lower reaches of the Amu Darya River”. He is the author of more than 100 scientific articles, 6 scientific recommendations, 5 monographs and 20 methodical instructions. Since 2014 he has been working as a professor in the department.
